You may remember some time ago we reviewed Telltale’s Walking Dead video game and found it to be both a hoot and a holler, offering up a new and entertaining version of the zombie game that very positively fit into the world of the seminal Image series. Well, for those of you who have been holding out on getting the game for whatever reason, now might be just the time to get into it.

Announced today by Telltale, the Walking Dead‘s five episode “season” will be headed to consoles in a physical edition. The retail disc will run at $29.99 for all five episodes of the first season (with each episode running between four to six hours of consecutive game play or so), with the entire story tailored to you and the decisions you make.

However, because Collector’s Edition is all the rage, GameStop will exclusively selling the bad-ass box set seen above, which comes with both the game and the first compendium of “the Walking Dead,” which collects the first 48 issues of the series (or, in TV terms, about the first three seasons, assuming season three gets that far) with a brand new cover designed by Charlie Adlard, who also does the box art for the Collector’s Edition. How much is that? $69.99!

(For the record, the compendium on it’s own is retailed at $59.99, with the second volume with the next 48 issues on sale now, so it is a pretty good deal.)

It’s a pretty great game that truly immerses the player in the twisted world of the undead, so if you’re a fan of the book or show and enjoy playing videogames, this is pretty much a can’t miss.
