You know, how this little thing is happening? Man Of Steel 2: Electric Bat-aloo? Well, the internet has been ablaze with rumours as to who will get to don the cape and cowl this time around. Would they bring back Christian Bale for one last hurrah? Would they bring in some new blood? Well, those questions are now answered as DC Comics announced today who the new Batman is. The news comes from the LA Times.
Now, what I want you to do is list all of your favourite potention Bat-candidates in your head. Got them? Right, so… Ben Affleck is Batman. I know, right? Was he on anyone else’s list? Because apparently he was on DC’s list. Enough so that he actually landed the role.
If this had been even five years ago, many more people would laugh this casting off, I think. However, remember that Affleck is coming off of Argo with a best picture win which makes his name much more reputable ’round those Hollywood parts than it has been. Personally, I’m interested to see what he’ll do. I’m one of the three people on the planet to genuinely like the Daredevil movie, after all. Either way, we won’t see how it all comes together until 2015 so, until then, Argof–
