Image Comics have revealed “Ten Thousand Black Feathers,” the second installment of writer Jeff Lemire and artist Andrea Sorrentino’s ‘Bone Orchard Mythos,’ will begin this September. Colored by Dave Stewart, the miniseries follows Trish and Jackie, two “best friends and avid gamers,” who start to see “the line between reality and their fantasy world” become “blurred by an evil darkness.”
“This is a story of friendship,” states Lemire, “coming of age and imagination that is equal parts horrific, mysterious and heart wrenching.” Sorrentino adds, “It’s a dark mystery that influenced (unfortunately, for the worst) the lives of the two women for more than 20 years. The way the story is laid out — told between present and a mysterious past — gave me the chance to play with styles in a way that will be new to readers of ‘The Passageway.’ Can’t wait for readers to pick up the first issue this September!”
Lemire and Sorrentino’s ‘Bone Orchard Mythos’ kicked off this month with the original graphic novel “The Passageway.” Lemire says “Ten Thousand Black Feathers” is where “we dig in and really start to explore this new universe” of interconnected horror stories, which will continue with more OGNs and limited series, including 2023’s “Tenement.”
“Ten Thousand Black Feathers” #1 will be released on September 14, with various covers by artists like Sorrentino, Christian Ward, Martin Simmonds, and Mike Del Mundo. You can check out the first two artists’ covers, and an interior preview, at ImageComics.com.
