The Adventures Of TinTin Trailer Is… Dark

From Columbia, Paramount, and Nickelodeon comes the above trailer for the Steven Spielberg film, The Adventures of TinTin, a new animated film starring Jamie Bell as the titular character. The film contains crazy awesome CGI that honestly looks quite real (although perhaps I’m just watching this on a poor monitor). To make things even more exciting, we can note that Steven Moffat, Joe Cornish, and Edgar Wright all collaborated on the script, and the film also stars Daniel Craig, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Toby Jones, and Andy Serkis. Talk about a creative dynamo.

I guess the only odd part is how dark the film looks. Anyone who has ever read or come in contact with TinTin knows that it’s rather lighthearted, all things considered. I’ve watched the animated films and read the books with my nephew (in French, because he’s a genius!), and the tone of this trailer doesn’t match tone of the books at all. It should be interesting to see how the finished product looks.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
