The “Age of Ultron” Teases Begin After “Winter Soldier” with a Whedon-Directed Stinger

In a recent interview with Collider, Marvel Studio’s Head of Production Kevin Feige dropped some fun factoids for you: 1) that there will be two Winter Soldier stingers (post-credits sequences) and 2) one is directed by Joss Whedon as a lead-in to Avengers: Age of Ultron (the other is directed by Winter Soldier‘s directors Joe and Anthony Russo).

It’s not a big shocker that there are two stingers, as Avengers and Thor: The Dark World both had two, one to offer story closure and another to tease what comes next. Many people didn’t even realize both films had two, as Marvel snuck the “important” one before all the credits rolled, leaving the other for fans who really wanted to wait and see people eat shwarma and kiss. So it’s nice to have Feige confirm that there will in fact be multiple stingers on this film for anyone who may be antsy to leave their seats.

It’s also not a big shocker that Avengers: Age of Ultron will get some kind of teaser in Winter Soldier as the first Avengers “trailer” appeared after the first Captain America film. However, it is still pretty neat. And fans of Whedon’s, who are curious about what is to come in Age of Ultron (and who may or may not believe our rumor mongering), can start getting stoked that next month when they’ll get their first big tease about what is to come in the Age of Ultron.

My guess? Well, Thomas Kretschmann signed up to play Baron Von Strucker in Age of Ultron, which at a glance doesn’t make sense. But he’s also up for a multi-picture deal, and Strucker’s relationship to Hydra works well with Captain America (who fought Hydra in the first film). Perhaps the post-teaser sequence is our first look at Kretschmann as Strucker?

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
