ComiXology have announced a new series called “The All-Nighter” by writer Chip Zdarsky, artist Jason Loo, colorist Paris Alleyne, letterer Aditya Bidikar, and editor Alison O’Toole. The team previously worked together on “Afterlift.”
The series will be set in a world where humans live alongside vampires, and follow a young vampire, Alex, as he trades in his job at a diner called All-Nighter to focus on being a vigilante with three of his vampire friends, Joy, Cynthia, and Ian. The danger that their high-profile heroics put their loved ones in becomes quickly apparent.
In a press release, Zdarsky stated “working on ‘Afterlift’ was an amazing experience… I knew I wanted to work with [the team] again immediately, and I’m super grateful that we have the chance with ‘The All-Nighter!'” Loo described the series as “offer[ing] a unique and really fun take on the superhero genre. Every issue has a surprise that will get readers hooked and wondering: ‘who’s gonna show up next?!’”
The series has been a joint development by comiXology, Dark Horse Comics, and Amazon Studios, with Dark Horse already setting the series’ collected edition for a print release, and Amazon Studios adapting it into a TV series from executive producer Jordan Feiner (Hell on Wheels).
“The All-Nighter” is set to debut on comiXology early next year, with Dark Horse’s print release specified for February 15, 2022. Dates relating to the series adaptation’s schedule have not been revealed at this time. You can check out preview pages for the series at io9.
