The Almighty THWIPSTER Is Returning

Back in the day, we rather excitedly got behind a new website called Thwipster, a website that specialized in daily deals on comics. Giving out trades at insane prices, Thwipster regularly gave us deals we knew we wanted but were afraid to pull the trigger on (I finally bought all of “Transmet” thanks to them) or deals on books we didn’t even know we wanted (that reprint of the original “Youngblood” series re-scripted by Joe Casey). It was — simply put — the best.

But lo, a dark day came, and Thwipster disappeared. Millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror, and were suddenly silenced. We feared something terrible had happened.

But now, Thwipster is back. And we don’t know what they have planned but they have… something going on. Take a look at an e-mail just sent out:

We found out that daily deals didn’t work so well for our sanity or as a business model so that’s gone. The good news is we made something better and “with legs” as they say. I don’t want to say too much yet but think of every great movie, game, comic, toy tech or piece of art you love and you’ll be seeing it on the new Thwipster.

You had me at Hello, Thwipster.

So, if you haven’t yet, sign up for Thwipster 2.0 here and now and get excited for the return of one of the best sites to return into our world. We’re certainly ready.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
