The Amazon Saga Reaches It’s Final Act

What a journey this has been. Over a short period, Amazon went from having the single greatest sale in the history of comics, to everyone finding out it was a glitch, to them canceling all of their orders and spurring a #notaglitch campaign by Gail Simone, to where we are now.

Where are we now?

Hello,

We wanted to follow up on a recent message we sent about the cancellation of your recent order.

To recap: Due to a pricing error, we sold many more graphic novels than expected. In fact, we completely sold out – we don’t have any in stock right now, and we’re not sure when we’ll be able to get more.

We’re sorry for any frustration the issue may have caused, and have applied a $25 promotional certificate to your account.

You can use it the next time you order an item shipped and sold by Amazon.com. You’ll see your available promotional balance at checkout–this amount will be applied to your next order automatically without entering a claim code.

I hope this helps. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Sincerely,

Customer Service

I’m not going to lie, I was a bit annoyed by my order being canceled even though I knew it was not meant to be. Getting a $25 credit for this minor inconvenience is a heck of a customer service thing to do, and I appreciate it as a long time Amazon customer.

There are plenty of books out there you can support with your new found windfall (if you can call it that). Get out there and support them, or do as Kevin Church is suggesting on Twitter and be benevolent. Or don’t. But don’t spend it on Justin Bieber, whatever you do.
