It was announced nearly a year ago, but it looks like the Bob’s Burgers comic book is actually a thing that is going to happen this August from Dynamite.
As announced over at the Hollywood Reporter, the Belchers are coming to the land of sequential art for “Bob’s Burgers: The Comic”. And who exactly is going to be putting this book together? The creative team and artists of the show itself. The announcement isn’t really more specific than that, other than to note that the first issues will feature five strips titled “Louise’s Unsolved Mysteries,” “Tina’s Erotic Friend Fiction,” “A Gene Blecher Original Musical, “Letters Written by Linda” and “Bob’s Burgers of the Day,” which means that every single one of the family gets his or her own time to shine in the spotlight.
It is a bit odd to not name a single writer or artist of the series, given how many people work on the series, though I would imagine at least creator Loren Bouchard is probably involved, and likely folks like Nora Smith, Lizzie and Wendy Molyneux, Jon Schroeder and Greg Thompson (I hope, anyway, as Thompson wrote my favorite episode of the series, “Broadcast Wagstaff School News”).
Either way, look forward to the series in August and the Bob’s Burgers Season 4 finale this sunday, and enjoy this song from the show that I always end up humming at random points:
