The Fall of the New Mutants

As if they haven’t been having a tough time already, it appears that post-“Second Coming” the X-Men’s heir apparents the New Mutants will be having an even rougher go of it. Issue #15 will be coming out next month, launching a new arc from the ashes of “Second Coming” called “The Fall of the New Mutants”. This arc, as many of you long time X-fans will know, plays off the major X-over “The Fall of the Mutants” from 1988, an event that saw a lot of turmoil across the X-books – including the death of Douglas Ramsey aka Cypher (who is now back to life thanks to Necrosha).

The solicit is fairly vague, but it does reveal one very tantalizing detail: superb artist Leonard Kirk will be taking over artistic duties with this issue. That’s huge news, and something that could possibly help escalate this book in quality to an even higher level.
