We knew Michael B. Jordan was going to play Johnny Storm/The Human Torch in the upcoming “Fantastic Four” reboot from Fox and director Josh Trank (Chronicle), but we now know who will be playing the rest of the FF in the film. They are (clockwise):
– Michael B. Jordan (Chronicle) as Johnny Storm/the Human Torch
– Kate Mara (House of Cards) as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman
– Miles Teller (The Spectacular Now) as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic
– Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot, amongst other awesome roles) as Ben Grimm/The Thing
It’s apparently not finalized, but according to the Hollywood Reporter it is a done deal. It’s a very young cast, and I’m sure some will hem and haw, but at least they’re all generally considered to be good actors! Teller is on a hot streak, Jordan is one of the finest young actors around, Mara is widely considered to be one of the best parts of one of TV(ish)’s hottest shows and Jamie Bell? Well, that guy is just awesome.
Some will have problems, but I’m in. “Chronicle” was a ton of fun, it’s a great cast, and it’s not like the last run was so great, was it?
This film is supposed to drop March 6, 2015, but we’ll see when it really comes. More on this as we get it, including someone probably being cast as Dr. Doom.
