Marvel is also announcing a set of one-shots that will close out Siege and the Dark Reign era. Marvel notes that these one-shots do not carry their final titles. (As a note, this strongly calls back memories of the death of Captain America. Remember then that Marvel simply referred to a series of “Fallen Son” specials, which then evolved into a mini-series called “Fallen Son: The Death of Captain America.” Each issue focused on a different hero.)

I am excited. Are you excited? I am excited. It’s a shame to see some of the books end, as I am loving Mighty Avengers and want Slott to continue writing Avengers beyond. Of course, we also suggested to Bendis that Marvel should condense and renumber the Avengers titles… we’ll see what happens. It’s the end of an era, folks, and it’s exciting to be a part of it.
