The Goon Returns!

This might not be intrinsically considered “news” per se, but in the recent Dark Horse solicits for June 2011, it was solicited that everyone’s favorite bruiser is back in a bimonthly series from Eric Powell.

Recently, Eric Powell was the attention of bloggers and journalists across the great internets due to his comments on independent comics vs. that of the mainstream property based titles. And now, with the #34th color issue in the third volume of the series what is he tackling now?

The Goon’s been away for a while, and he’s horrified by what’s been passing for horror in his absence! When a bunch of gothy vampires summon some of the new generation for revenge on the Goon, they discover just how little tolerance he has for sparkliness. The Goon returns to its bimonthly schedule, and nothing beloved by ten-year-old girls is safe!

Eat your heart out, Twilight.

Expect more from the Goon in the months to come, and assumedly some self-referential crack at some point as to the whole creator-owned video he made. It’d seem a tad odd not to, to be honest.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
