Today at MTV Splash Page, they’ve got an awesome exclusive – the teaser trailer of the upcoming The Goon animated film. While the teaser in itself doesn’t show much at all (naturally), it does manage to tell you “holy crap, they are actually making a movie of The Goon!“
Eric Powell’s series has managed to develop a lot of big fans throughout the years, including the film’s producer David Fincher, and to see it realized on screen like this with a huge talent like Paul Giamatti (as Frankie) is a hell of a thing. I can’t wait to see The Goon and Frankie busting up slackjaws up on the screen and encountering the bizarre world that they live in, and it looks like they’ve got a great feel for the book’s more ridiculous sides.
Not only that, but they also announced that both Fincher and Giamatti will be at the San Diego Comic Con panel for The Goon. For those who are attending SDCC, this is all the more incentive to go and seek out this panel when the time comes, if only to see the reveal of the full trailer in all its glory.
