Female representation in comic books (especially how women are drawn in comics) is a really big issue that I won’t get into right now. Instead, I want to highlight The Hawkeye Initiative which is a collection of artists who have taken it upon themselves to redraw every terrible “strong female character” pose with Hawkeye instead.

Below are some of my favourite with all credit to the original artists. All of the ones feature here and more can be found at the original Hawkeye Initiative site.

Alice W. Castle

Sworn to protect a world that hates and fears her, Alice W. Castle is a trans femme writing about comics. All things considered, it’s going surprisingly well. Ask her about the unproduced Superman films of 1990 - 2006. She can be found on various corners of the internet, but most frequently on Twitter: @alicewcastle
