Since Civil War, every major Marvel event has had one thing always present: news coverage. Civil War, Secret Invasion, and Siege have all featured additional concurrent mini-series starring Front Line, as Ben Urich covers the news of the Marvel Universe the best he can (and it’s arguable that this has even gone on before with Secret War and House Of M both having tie-ins with The Pulse). Fear Itself will also be getting it’s very own Front Line-esque tie-in, but it appears this time it’ll be of a slightly different nature. Fear Itself gets a mini called “The Home Front.”
The original Civil War mini featured multiple stories detailing with different elements of the war, including the “birth” of Penance and the release from jail of Norman Osborn. It appears the Home Front is going to be similar, as it appears to be an anthology book featuring stories by Christos Gage, Peter Milligan, Mike Mayhew, and Howard Chaykin. Each story features heroes battling against their worst fears, and as the press release reads, “Catch Fear Itself from every angle and join the fight as Marvel’s top talents take you on a series of globespanning, action packed adventures that will test the mettle of hero, citizen and villain alike!”
The book will run 7 issues alongside Fear Itself, and this will feature all the characters who aren’t in Feat Itself proper or have their own tie-ins.
