Today Marvel announced at the big Shattered Heroes panel that they will be launching a new Avengers title written by Brian Michael Bendis and illustrated by Mark Bagley titled “Avengers Assemble” to come out in March in time for the new movie. It’s Bendis’ third Avengers book, but it’s an exciting book that promises to bring the Ultimate Spider-Man team back together for a grassroots team that will face off against old Avengers villain Zodiac in the first arc.
But the real news to us is the difference between Bagley’s full color finished work and his pencils. The colors, as you can see above, seem to have a gaping hole in the top part of the article. And in the pencils below you can see that hole is filled with Thor, who is now clearly missing. So something happened to make him go away. What is it? I’d wager we’ll find out this Wednesday in Fear Itself #7.
