The Justice Society on Smallville Revealed!

Now that Clark is closer to being Superman than being a mere meteor freak in Smallville, he’s starting to interact with the DCU at large. Sure, there was the “Junior Lifeguards Association” a few years ago, and Green Arrow is a regular character, but Smallville was pretty insular. Then last season happened, when Geoff Johns was tapped to pen the episode “Legion.” And this Friday, Well, he’s back, and now he’s writing “Society.”

and now we know who they are:

He has been sketchy on who was going to be in the episode, but now we have confirmation that Hawkman and Dr. Fate are going to be played by Michael Shanks (Stargate SG-1, Burn Notice) and Brent Stait (Gene Roddenberry’s Andromeda, Stargate Atlantis), respectively. And we also have a third member, Star Girl, all but confirmed.

Michael Shanks will be Hawkman

Brent Stait will be Dr. Fate.

I loved the episode Legion, as it reaffirmed my faith in the franchise. I had been watching, but not overly jazzed about the show. I was actually kind of excited to watch again, as opposed to HAVING TO watch a show. And now that The JSA are appearing after the Wonder Twins (I know you want to laugh, but it has the wonderful Allison Scagliotti from Warehouse 13 and One Tree Hill playing Jayna), my nerd senses are tingling.

UPDATE:

Stargirl has been confirmed, and will be played by Britt Irvin from Hot Rod and Aliens in America. All three of these seem to be great choices for the roles of the JSA members.

Society is airing in January.

Gilbert Short

Gilbert Short. The Man. The Myth. The Legend. When he's not reading comic books so you don't have to, he's likely listening to mediocre music or watching excellent television. Passionate about Giants baseball and 49ers football. When he was a kid he wanted to be The Ultimate Warrior. He still kind of does. His favorite character is Superman and he will argue with you about it if you try to convince him otherwise. He also happens to be the head of Social Media Relations, which means you should totally give him a follow onTwitter.
