In what is assumedly the last teaser about the book until we hear what the book actually is, Marvel has released a teaser for their “The Mighty” book, a series reportedly about the pseudo-Avengers that take over while the real Avengers are off dealing with “Infinity.” And the two latest members? White Tiger and Power Man.

Of course, it’s important to note that the Power Man in question is in fact the Power Man born in “Shadowland,” Victor Alvarez. He’s not quite Luke Cage and Luke Cage didn’t exactly approve of him, so having him be on a team with Cage, alongside heavy hitters like Spidey, She-Hulk and the return of the Blue Marvel is interesting.

White Tiger, on the other hand, is probably on the team fresh from graduation at Avengers Academy. Welcome to the big leagues! Ava Ayala has also been starring on Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon, so this can assumedly be Marvel trying to bring her back into the Marvel Comic U in a big way.

So whatever “The Mighty” is, it is easily Marvel’s most diverse team yet. That’s pretty exciting. We’ll see who is writing and arting the series, but fingers crossed on this one.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
