We knew it was coming. We didn’t know when or how, but we knew it would be coming. And in February of next year, it arrives: the next installment of Alan Moore and Kevin O’Neill’s seminal series, “The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen,” entitled “Nemo: Heart of Ice.”

As revealed on the website for Gosh Comics in London, we now get a synopsis and the cover reveal for the upcoming book. Starring the daughter of the former Captain Nemo, Janni Dakkar, “Heart of Ice” finds Janni sailing into the Antarctica in 1925 (15 years after the events of Vol. 3 #1: 1910) in a place formerly visited by her father. However, when he last came and returned, he had lost his crew and his sanity, and now Janni is going to find out why. However, at the same time a trio of America’s “most lauded technological adventurers” set off on her tail in order to defeat her and get revenge for her various acts of piracy.

It’s a self-contained story spinning out of “Century” which sees influence in Edgar Allen Poe and HP Lovecraft, and will assumedly be released via Top Shelf once again (although the Gosh posting does not clarify this). The book will be a 48 page hardcover and will cost £9.99, which is roughly $15.88ish. Look forward to it being a great deal of awesome.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
