The Leaked Locke And Key Trailer Is Amazing

Uploaded by “some guy”, fans who were not Comic Con can now get a look at the trailer for the rejected series by Fox that adapts Joe Hill’s Locke and Key. To say that it looks amazing is kind of an understatement, and it is rather confusing as to why Fox would pass on a show that looks this good. Then again, with comic book TV shows not doing so well on major networks (or at least shows with ties to comics, like No Ordinary Family and the Cape), it’s not that odd – just infinitely perplexing when you look at the success of The Walking Dead show on AMC.

Which is a long way of me saying: hey, AMC! Need a new show?

Joe Hill took to the interwebs to address the leaked trailer, saying:

To be clear, no matter what this trailer says, Fox has no current plans to air the show. I do not know from whence this trailer came but it very much conveys the strengths of the pilot. … There is no reason to think yet that the pilot will be released or the show produced, but stranger things have happened. … Nobody should make anything of it … except that it’s pretty awesome. Like the pilot itself.

If we’re lucky, the rejected pilot will make it’s way to the internet in the same way that Wonder Woman did, but until that happens we can only hope that another network finds out how to steal this show and put it on. Given that the book is written in volumes, with six planned volumes total, it’s pretty ideal for a television property.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
