Have you read your issue of “Luther Strode” this week? Ok. Lets talk a bit about it.
This week saw the finale of “The Legend of Luther Strode,” the sequel to the hit series “The Strange Talent of Luther Strode” and the middle part to the overall trilogy planned for the series. With it came the following tease for the next series and a tentative date:
On Twitter, series writer Justin Jordan had noted that part of the plan for the next series was to wait until it was good and finished as to avoid any delays, as this series saw a bit of a lag between the last two issues. It’s perfectly understandable, mind you; the final issue is BEYOND colossal in what it contains, from Darrow-esque murder-spreads to some of the most impressive and kinetic action sequences you’ll see in any comic this week, let alone in general. It’s a finale that was worth the wait and Jordan, Moore and Sobriero have completely mastered the bloody music they play together.
So, “Legacy” — the finale to the series — will come out in the second half of next year.
But what I want to talk about is the mystery of who the woman was in the epilogue of the series, one of five characters who have speaking lines in the issue. Take a look:
It’s easy to see that whoever she is, she’ll obviously have a big role in the next series. In “Strange Talent,” Jack the Ripper was snuck into an early scene of the story while Luther was learning about the death cult from which his power is derived. It was the only tease we got as to who Luther would face off in this series, and it was incredibly subtle.
This is arguably less subtle, but no easier to figure out. After all, Jack the Ripper has a distinctive look. The only guess I had, that it was the Virgin Mary (hair would match most illustrations of her and she’s dressed all in white), has already been announced as incorrect on Twitter, and I admit that I’m having a bit of a hard time thinking of any killer in history as notorious as Caine or Jack the Ripper.
Here is the only hint we have:
On the mystery woman in Legend: she's historical in the same sense as Cain.

Hmm. Any guesses? Closest I could get is maybe Delilah, the woman who cut Samson’s hair, but that’s not particularly evil, is it? Assuming that being part of the cult ostensibly requires you to be evil. I’ve also seen speculation it could be Lilith, Adam’s first wife, but I’m not sure that would work if only because Cain started the cult and Lilith would’ve come before Cain.
There’s also the seemingly obvious guess of Lizzie Borden, who was featured in the Kate or Die backmatter at one point in the book, but that seems too obvious, right? And not Biblical enough either.
We welcome any and all guesses in the comment section.
OH! And did I mention we’re having a contest right now where you can win a signed copy of the first trade of the Luther Strode saga going on right now? You should enter and win.
