There you have it: after months of people wondering what the Man of Steel sequel would be officially titled, we now know.

As revealed on Facebook of all places, the sequel to Man of Steel will be titled Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. It’s obviously a reference to the notion that members of the Justice League will appear in this film (Wonder Woman and Cyborg, for example), but that a movie about two big-time superheroes punching each other would be called “Dawn of Justice” is a bit humorous.

You also have to love that Superman can’t even get first billing on his own sequel.

The film opens May 6th, 2016, directed by Zack Snyder, written by Chris Terrio from a screenplay by David Goyer and starring Henry Cavill as Superman and Ben Affleck as Batman.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
