The Marvel Trinity Returns in June

Marvel is just full of announcements today, as we’re now given another Avengers title on top the multitude of others. They just announced a five-issue bi-monthly limited series set to start in June titled Avengers Prime: Siege Aftermath.

This series is written by Brian Michael Bendis (naturally) and illustrated by industry legend Alan Davis, and it works as a brief mirror image of DC’s Trinity. Except hopefully not horrible like that bomb. This series will highlight the relationship between Thor, Iron Man and Steve Rogers, a fractured and history ridden one that was broken so completely over the actions during Civil War.

I’m not going to lie, while it is another title that does not necessarily need to happen, the combination of creators and subject matter makes this a must read. Check out the solicit after the jump for more.

AVENGERS PRIME: SIEGE AFTERMATH #1
WRITER: Brian Michael Bendis
ARTIST: Alan Davis

THE STORY:
They were friends, brothers and teammates through all of Marvel’s greatest adventures, but recent events turned them into the bitterest of enemies. In the wake of the Siege of Asgard Thor, Iron Man and Steve Rogers are brought together on the same side once more, but it’s going to take more than a handshake and a smile to get these great heroes to truly trust each other again. This all-new, grand and dangerous adventure will catapult our heroes into the explosive Heroic Age and will unite comics legend Alan Davis with Avengers scribe Brian Bendis for the very first time.

This five-issue limited series ships bi-monthly beginning in June.
