LGBTQ+ superhero series “The Pride” is returning just in time for Pride month. Newsarama shared a press release announcing that the former comiXology Submit series is continuing as a comiXology Original, and that its initial releases will be available in print via Amazon.
“The Pride: Season Two” #1 will release June 5 and continue writer Joe Glass’s story of a superhero team comprised entirely of LGBTQ+ characters, partaking in “bright and fun action-packed adventures that any super hero fan can enjoy.” Glass will be joined by artist Cem Iroz, colorist Mark Dale, and letterer Mike Stock for this new season, which will include stories both large and small.
“We’ve been big fans of ‘The Pride’ since it debuted through comiXology Submit in 2014,” said Chip Mosher, comiXology’s Head of Content. “We are excited about the future of ‘The Pride’ and so have taken steps to invest in it and have it continue as a comiXology Originals title. It’s fantastic to be able to pick up a series that debuted on Submit and help extend its reach to a broader worldwide audience.”
In addition to publishing The Pride’s continuing adventures, comiXology will make “The Pride: Season One” and “The Pride Adventures: Season One” available as part of comiXology Originals (and thus Amazon’s many digital subscription services) and in print via Amazon.com. “The Pride: Season Two” will also be collected after it completes its six-issue run.
