Well look what popped up in the paper! In a shot from SFX Magazine, the above image gives us our first look at the Cosmic Cube as it will appear in the upcoming Captain America: The First Avenger . Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, the original Cosmic Cube was created by AIM as a reality distorting device before eventually being changed into a device that was created thousands of years ago by a collective group of lifeforms and aliens. It’s also a tool that the Red Skull has often tried to get his evil Nazi hands on, including in the most recent volume of Captain America as started by Ed Brubaker. The device has been used in multiple storylines, including one featuring Thanos, and with rumors of that Infinity Gauntlet set piece somehow being connected to the overarcing Avengers trilogy story, it looks like some fist fighting might go down.

Either way, Hugo looks damn good, doesn’t he? In addition to the SFX Magazine cut out, a concept art image of the Red Skull has appeared online, showing what the character is supposed to ultimately look like in the movie. It’s all very exciting for Cap fans.

Check behind the cut for a nice big picture of the concept art for the Red Skull as well – actual skull included!

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
