The Return of CrossGen?

From 1998 to 2004, a small comics publisher known as CrossGen quickly became a force to be reckoned with. Combining the bankroll of investor/comic fan Mark Alessi with the talents of people like Editor-In-Chief Mark Waid, writers Ron Marz and Barbara Kesel, and budding artists like Steve McNiven, this publisher developed a passionate fanbase very quickly.

And then it died.

It turns out if you aren’t good at managing your business, the quality of your comics don’t matter. CrossGen went into limbo until Disney purchased them strictly to develop CrossGen’s “Abadazad” as a novel series.

The same Disney who now owns Marvel.

So when Marvel’s Cup of Joe panel ended today with a single slide showing CrossGen’s logo (as noted by Bleeding Cool). Intriguing…

Expect the return of old favorites going forward, like “Scion” and “Sigil.” More on this as we get it.
