Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.

– First up, Geoff Johns has promised (or threatened, I guess, depending on who you are) that he will be writing more comics in 2017. Johns hasn’t had a comics published since “DC Universe Rebirth” #1 way back in May. What’s more is that his tweet was accompanied by an image of Doctor Manhattan so three guesses what the story’s going to be. My guess? Johns returns for DC’s 2017 event comic that formally introduces “Watchmen” characters to the DC fold.
– Geoff Johns also mentioned that a new DCTV show is due to be announced soon. Could this be the Titans show Johns has been trying to get off the ground? We’ll see soon enough, apparently.
– Mark this one down as a rumour, but one that makes sense. Makingstarwars.com has made the case that the standalone Han Solo movie will be moving to December 2018 instead of the previously announced May 2018 release date. Not only does this make sense, but it also closes the year and a half gap that would have been left between Han Solo and Episode IX’s December 2019 release.
– Hey, look like I might watch a Spider-Man cartoon as the style guides have surfaced for Marvel’s Spider-Man that feature Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy as well as Peter Parker. Basically, I just want a cartoon with Spider-Gwen in it.
– Finally, check out this breakdown of “The Dregs” #1 that follows Eric Zawadzki’s artwork from layouts based on the script by Lonnie Nadler and Zac Thompson to the finished page with colours by Dee Cunniffe. It’s a thought process laid bare through artwork that’s really interesting.
