– Charles Soule announced via his website that his and Ryan Browne’s creator-owned series “Curse Words” will end this fall with issue #25. Soule wrote, “We will be doing a Spring Special, with art from Mike Norton, and then #21-25. So, you have eight more issues of ‘Curse Words’ to look forward to. It’ll all be over by the fall, but there are still plenty of amazing adventures to come from Wizord, Margaret and the gang.”
– Comic book writer Brian Michael Bendis posted a host of images on his Instagram account as part of his annual “Tease in Ten Parts” tradition. The images included a close-up of Batman Beyond, the logo for “Legion of Superheroes,” panels from Jack Kirby’s Fourth World stories, and more. No details were given in relation to the images. You can view his post here.
– Marvel is teasing “Iron Man” centric event for the year 2020. In the latest issue of “Marvel’s Previews,” a full-page promo run next to the solicitation for “Tony Stark: Iron Man” reads “2020 Approaches.” The tech-themed background of the page and the use of gears in place of the zeros suggest that the event is related to Arno Stark, the Iron Man of 2020, though no details have been confirmed yet.
– A remastered edition of “Cerebus” vol. 1 is now available for the first time on ComiXology. The new edition features an illustrated 6,000-word essay on the history of “Cerebus” and a page-by-page remastering from 2016.
– IDW Media Holdings Chairman Howard Jonas has reportedly loaned a total of $28 million to the company as of December 18th. The money is being used to fund production and operating costs. IDW had previously announced a plan for bank financing of $23.5 million, but has since stated that some of that financing has been delayed. In the announcement, they listed a number of projects that necessitated the loan including funding for seasons 4 and 5 of Wynonna Earp.
– A prequel novel for The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina will be released by Scholastic in early July. Season of the Witch (The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Book 1) will be written by Sarah Rees Brennan, and follows Sabrina during the summer before her sixteenth birthday.
