In case you missed it, we have an exclusive preview of “Gotham City Monsters” #5.

— Dead Reckoning announced “Churchill: A Graphic Biography,” a graphic novel written by Vincent Delmas and illustrated by Christophe Regnault and Alessio Cammardella. It explores the life of Winston Churchill, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, beginning with his upbringing through his time serving in World War I and his role as Prime Minister during World War II and other world conflicts. It comes with a foreword by historian Andrew Roberts, and will be released on April 15, 2020.

— Valiant teased the launch of its first crime noir series titled “First Witness.” The five-issue mini-series, which is described as “Zodiac meets True Detective meets superheroes,” follows four characters who are brought together to solve a murder. Valiant has yet to release information on the creative team, but the project is being edited by Heather Antos. It will release sometime in early 2020.

— 20th Century Fox released the official trailer for The New Mutants, the horror thriller movie based on the Marvel comics and characters. It stars Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Heaton, Alice Braga, Blu Hunt, and Henry Zaga, and is scheduled to hit theaters on April 3, 2020. This was the first trailer for the long-delayed movie (originally set for April 13, 2018) in over two years.

— Warner Bros. has hired playwright Jeremy O. Harris (Slave Play) to adapt Image Comics’ “The New World” into a feature film. The series, written by Ales Kot and illustrated by Tradd Moore, takes place in New California after a second civil war, and follows the exploits of “a reality tv cop with a traumatic past and an anarchist hacker vegan kid who hook up at a party.”

— Dennis Haysbert has been cast as God on Netflix and Warner Bros.’s Lucifer, appearing throughout the fifth and final season. The show returns later this year.

— Christian Bale is reportedly in talks to join the cast of Thor: Love and Thunder. No word on who he would play, but this would mark Bale’s return to the superhero genre after starring as Bruce Wayne/Batman in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, which concluded in 2012.

— Finally, Joker has earned 11 nominations at the British Academy Film Awards, including Best Film and Best Leading Actor, the most for any film this year. You can read the full list of nominees here. The winners will be announced February 2.
