– Walter and Louise Simonson will return to Marvel’s Merry Mutants with “X-Men Legends” #3. Written by Louise with art by Walter, the story will take place during their acclaimed run on “X-Factor,” a run that saw the introduction of the villain Apocalypse, and Warren Worthington get transformed into the tortured Archangel. Picking up just before “X-Factor” #43, the issue will see the team’s sentient headquarters Ship begin to malfunction, leading to the revelation of Apocalypse’s true plan, and a rematch decades in the making. “X-Men Legends” as a series will explore many classic runs and storylines from X-history, with creators such as Chris Claremont, Larry Hama, and Peter David all producing stories for the book. “X-Men Legends” #1 launches this February, with writer Fabian Nicieza and artist Brett Booth revealing the truth behind the third Summers brother. Issue #3 is due out this April.
– Marvel announced that readers can get a glimpse of Peach Momoko’s “Demon Days” saga in February’s “King in Black” #4. The six-page backup will introduce readers to the magic and monsters of Momoko’s world before her five-part “Demon Days: X-Men” miniseries launches this March, featuring reimaginings of Psylocke, Emma Frost, and the Juggernaut through the lens of Japanese folktales.
– “Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir,” based on the French animated series from Zag Entertainment, will be adapted as a manga in Monthly Shonen Sirius. The adaptation will premiere in the March issue of the magazine on sale this month. Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir first aired in the States on Nickelodeon in 2015, and became exclusive to Netflix until it was picked up by Disney Channel in 2019.
– Graphic designer Tom Mueller has been honored with an Award for Excellence for his work on Marvel’s X-line. The award, presented by Communications Arts magazine as part of their Typography Annual 11 event, honored Mueller’s recent design variants for books such as “X-Men,” “Excalibur,” and “New Mutants.”
– Writer Kelly Thompson has penned a Hawkeye prose story starring Kate Bishop. The story, titled The More Things Change, The More They Stay the Same, follows Bishop tracking a villain Rear Window-style from her apartment as she recovers from a broken leg. The story is presented as part of Marvel New Media, with accompanying art by Stefano Caselli, featuring lettering from VC’s Joe Sabino. It can be read on Marvel’s website, and can be listened to on the company’s This Week in Marvel podcast (at the 18:51 mark).

A special sneak preview can be viewed on Peacock’s YouTube.

Collins will play Leah, a character first met by Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) in the eighteenth episode, “Find Me.” The episode will air on March 7, with the current run premiering on February 28. – Finally, Water Hamada will continue to be President of DC Films until 2023. Signing a multi-year contract extension this week, Hamada will continue to oversee DC properties adapted for screens and streaming. Justice League‘s Ray Fisher expressed disapproval of Hamada’s re-signing, tweeting, “It’s weird how these reactionary announcements from [Warner Bros. Pictures] always forget to mention that Walter Hamada was working directly with Geoff Johns and Toby Emmerich (on Shazam) DURING Justice League reshoots…” Fisher has previously called Hamada “the most dangerous kind of enabler.” The actor has vowed never to work with Hamada again, and has reportedly been written out of the upcoming Flash film.
