In case you missed it, Marvel have announced “The Mighty Valkyries,” and AfterShock Comics have announced a sci-fi horror comic, “Phantom on the Scan.”

"Miles Morales: Spider-Man" #25

– Marvel have fully announced Miles Morales’s very own ‘Clone Saga.’ The new story arc is set to kick off in “Miles Morales: Spider-Man” #25, an oversized anniversary issue from Saladin Ahmed and Marvel Stormbreaker Carmen Carnero. This new ‘Clone Saga’ is said to be the culmination of many of the ongoing story threads that have been haunting Miles since the very beginning of Ahmed’s run. Marvel Editor Nick Lowe said, “If you thought the first ‘Clone Saga’ was controversial, wait until you read what Saladin and Carmen do.” “Miles Morales: Spider-Man” #25 will be available in April.

– Via Nerdist, Dark Horse announced The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Against the World Crime League, et al: A Compendium of Evil, a sequel novel to the 1984 film The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension. The sequel will be a fully prose novel narrated by the Reno Kid, a member of Buckaroo Banzai’s Hong Kong Cavaliers, as told to writer E.M. Rauch (aka the film’s screenwriter Earl Mac Rauch), and will follow Dr. Buckaroo Banzai, as he finally goes head-to-head with the evil organization the end of the movie promised. The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Against the World Crime League, et al: A Compendium of Evil will be available on August 21, 2021.

– A storyline that was set to run in Stephan Pastis’s newspaper strip “Pearls Before Swine” has been pulled, because it involved an attempted presidential coup. The five-part story, which was set to run next week, was deemed by distributor Andrews McMeel Syndication to be too soon after the storming of the United States Capitol (which left five dead, and over 100 injured). In an interview with The Press Democrat, Pastis noted he had submitted the strip a month ago, and that it wasn’t meant to parody the attack, “but these are unusual times.” Andy Sareyan, the syndicate’s chief executive officer, said “we’ll run the strips when things calm down.”

– Via The Hollywood Reporter, Image’s “Getting It Together” #4 will feature a special variant edition of the issue with an exclusive baked cover by former Great British Baking Show contestant Kim-Joy. “Getting It Together” by Sina Grace, Omar Spahi and Jenny D. Fine launched last year, and updates the Friends concept for life today. Grace said “I wanted to do something different and out of the box with this variant, and it was the best trust fall I’ve taken to put Kim-Joy’s immense talents to use in creating a cover with her bakes.” The limited edition release is available in the US from Sina Grace’s website, and in the UK from British store Traveling Man. Only 250 copies will be available in the US, and only 100 in the UK, with orders open now.

SKTCHD has interviewed John Hendrick and his team at Dublin’s Big Bang Comics about the negative effects Brexit is having on the European Comics retail market. The store’s last weekly comics were received the week of December 23, 2020. Hendrick says “Diamond UK are doing their best to improve this situation, but this is also an issue where they don’t have much control, as even if they fill out all the paperwork properly, there might be hundreds of trucks ahead of theirs that haven’t done their homework and are delaying everything anyway,” and while shops in the UK are still getting their books on time, the rest of the EU is not. Check out the interview for more information here.

– Nickelodeon’s Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie has released an official synopsis. In a tweet, the official TMNT account posted, “When a mysterious stranger arrives from the future with a dire warning, Leo is forced to rise & lead his brothers, Raph, Donnie, & Mikey in a fight to save the world from a terrifying alien species… the Krang!” The account also released a screenshot homaging the poster for the original film from 1990. Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie will hit Netflix later this year.

– And finally, in a tweet, video game studio Bethesda announced a new Indiana Jones video game with a new original story. The tweet reads, “A new Indiana Jones game with an original story is in development from our studio, MachineGames, and will be executive produced by Todd Howard, in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games. It’ll be some time before we have more to reveal, but we’re very excited to share today’s news!” Swedish studio MachineGames have developed all of the Wolfenstein video games since 2014’s The New Order.
