– Marvel has released a teaser image for the return of ‘Heroes Reborn.’ Little is known about the project at this time, but publisher Tom Brevoort said in a tweet that they have “been working on this one for a while now.” It remains to be seen what the scale of this unknown project will be. Many fans will remember the original ‘Heroes Reborn’ as a branding used across various books published in the ‘90s, including “Captain America,” “Avengers,” and “Fantastic Four.” These books were helmed by some of the most popular writers and artists in comics at the time, with names such as Jim Lee, Rob Liefeld, Whilce Portacio, Jeph Loeb, and Ian Churchill all leaving their own distinct mark on the line. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the original ‘Heroes Reborn.’

– Marvel’s ladies will take center stage in the upcoming “Women of Marvel” one-shot anthology, due out on April 7. Announced alongside Marvel’s April solicitations, this one-shot features a host of comics’ best female creators telling stories focused on the most powerful women in the Marvel Universe. The oversized issue will be 56-pages long and includes a She-Hulk story from writer Nadia Shammas, a Marrow story by writer/artist Sophie Campbell, a Peggy Carter story by writer Esla Sjunneson, and more. The issue is being curated by associate editor Sarah Brunstead, and will have covers by Sara Pichelli, Peach Momoko, Amanda Conner, and Maria Wolf.

– It was also revealed the Guardians of the Galaxy will be celebrating their 175th issue with a double-sized adventure this April in “Guardians of the Galaxy” #13. Joining series writer Al Ewing is artist Juan Frigeri, coming in fresh off the “King in Black: Ghost Rider” one-shot. Along with a new artist comes a shift in the book’s central cast, as Wiccan and Hulkling join the team in the wake of last summer’s ‘Empyre’ event. Ewing promises that the series is building towards a story “that’ll shake every planet in the Marvel universe down to the bedrock.” We’ll have more on Marvel’s April releases in our Soliciting Multiversity column next week. – Skybound Entertainment have announced the release date for their upcoming series “Summoners War: Legacy.” Originally announced last summer, the series will be debuting on April 28. “Summoners War: Legacy” is based on the popular mobile RPG, Summoners War: Sky Arena, and marks the first collaboration between South Korean game developer Com2uS and Skybound. Written by Justin Jordin with art by Luca Claretti and Giovanna Niro, the series takes place 35 years before the events of the hit mobile game and follows Rai, an untrained monster summoner who finds herself in the middle of a world at war.

– Minky Woodcock is returning in “The Girl Who Electrified Tesla,” a new series from the Hard Case imprint of Titan Comics this April. The book is a sequel to the 2017 series “Minky Woodcock: The Girl Who Handcuffed Houdini,” and follows the titular detective during World War II, as she takes on a new case involving Nikola Tesla, Nazis, and the greatest weapon the world has ever known. Written and illustrated by creator Cynthia von Buhler, the series will be filled with a noir atmosphere and references to true accounts of the life of the famed inventor.

– Artist Christopher Jones has shared some insight into the cancelled 2017 “Gargoyles” comic book, based on the classic ‘90s animated series. Jones stated that the book was originally planned as an ongoing series from original creator and writer Greg Weisman, featuring Jones and colorist Robby Bevard on art, but was then changed to be a “cinestory” adaptation of the show. This was done in an effort to gage interest on the property to see if it could be successful enough to warrant new material. Unfortunately, the book never came together and it was ultimately shelved, shortly before publisher Joe Books filed for bankruptcy in March 2019.

– Publisher Little, Brown has announced a new partnership with content studio Einhorn’s Epic Productions. This deal will allow Little, Brown to have exclusive first rights access to any middle-grade IP created by Einhorn’s Epic Productions. As part of this announcement, the publisher is moving forward with a graphic novel due out in 2023 called “Absolute Zeros,” which tells a story about a group of outsider kids working together to save their space camp. As part of this partnership, Einhorn’s Epic Productions will be working on creating content for and with diverse, female-driven voices.

– Humble Bundle has teamed with Legendary Comics for their latest comic book deal. Starting at only one American dollar, fans can pick up books from Mark Waid, Grant Morrison, Ed Benes, and more including “Godzilla: Awakening,” “Pacific Rim: Tales from the Drift,” and “Bram Stoker’s Dracula.” The books are available until February 9 on the Humble Bundle website.

– Finally, the Jared Leto Morbius movie has been pushed back again to January 21, 2022. Sony made the decision after MGM delayed the next James Bond film, No Time to Die, to Morbius‘s previous release date on October 8. MGM have also moved up the release of the animated Addams Family 2 a week to October 1.
