Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.

–Dynamite Entertainment has released a teaser of a robotic arm lying, as if lifeless, against a rocky ground with the taglines “All things end…” and “Who are the Sovereigns?”. No artist was given credit for the artwork but the publisher has defined the teaser as part of a “Huge Initiative.” The publisher then went on to describe the creative team as “one writer from Star Wars, one from Hasbro, one from DC and one who is mighty.” Could that last line be a reference to the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers, perhaps The Mighty Thor or is it @themightylayman who has been teasing a new series recently? Is the emphasis of the robotic arm indicative of a new push for the Bionic Man (or Woman!) or is this something entirely new?

–Wizard World has announced a new policy to exhibitors in which it will no longer be accepting credit cards at booths or tables “effective immediately.” Instead they will be relying strictly on cash or check. They also detailed a new check policy in which “Checks must be received at the Los Angeles office 7 days prior to the first day of load-in. Checks received after this date will be automatically returned to the sender. If no check is received within 7 days prior to the first day of load-in, exhibitors will be required to pay on-site with either a bank/cashier’s check or cash. No personal checks will be accepted on-site. Exhibitors that pay on-site will not receive booth placement until payment is remitted.” No reason was given for the sudden change.

Michele Wells has been hired as DC Entertainment’s new Vice President of Content Strategies, the spot which was left vacant when John Cunningham was promoted to Senior Vice President of Sales and Trade Marketing in July. Wells is coming to DC after a 5-year stint at Disney where she most recently served as Executive Editor of Digital Content.

Logan has been officially rated R for strong brutal violence and language throughout, and for brief nudity (hoping it’s Jackman).

–Disney and IDW have announced in conjunction an initiative to bring IDW Publishing’s entire slate of Disney Comics to the digital marketplace. This includes comics old and new from creators throughout the publisher’s history. These issues will be made available February 1st through IDW Publishing’s Comics App and Comixology.

–Over the weekend The Hollywood Reporter took the chance to follow up on President Trump’s almost quoting Bane from The Dark Knight Rises with Bane creators, Chuck Dixon and Graham Nolan. Within the interview Dixon and Nolan shared their opinions on the President’s Inaugural Address, a Bane presidency, and their specific political beliefs.

–Valiant has released the first look at John Morrison as the Eternal Warrior and Cierra Foster as Livewire in Ninjak Vs. The Valiant Universe. Both promotional images appear to be set in snow-covered forest.

–Jackson “Butch” Guice has been confirmed as the artist of Ta-Nehisi Coates’ “Black Panther and The Crew” which is scheduled to ship in April.

–It’s now been confirmed through America’s best news source, Twitter, that Henry Gayden will be the writer for the Shazam film. Gayden’s only previous feature film credit is as the writer for Earth to Echo.
