In case you missed it, we have an exclusive preview of next week’s “Silver Surfer: Ghost Light” #1.

Cover by Jay Martin

– Dark Horse has announced “Lost Boy,” the graphic novel debut of music video director Jay Martin. Martin writes and illustrates (with Frank Cvetkovic lettering) the book, which follows a young boy finding his way home through the freezing Wyoming woods following an accident. “In ‘Lost Boy,’ I wanted to create a different kind of survival story,” Martin says of the book. “Here, the main character discovers that what has always been perceived as his greatest weakness — his compassion and sensitivity — become his salvation.” The OGN will release in bookstores on Tuesday, July 25, and comics shops the following day.

– Brenna Thummler’s middle-grade “Sheets” trilogy will end with “Lights.” The trilogy follows 13-year old Marjorie Glatt and her friend Wendell, one of the ghosts that haunt her parents’ laundromat. “Lights” will see the pair attempting to solve the mysteries of Wendell’s death before his memories of life fade for good. The series began with 2018’s “Sheets,” with the second volume “Delicates” releasing in 2020. “Sheets” was listed as one of Barnes & Noble’s Best Books of 2018, and “Delicates” was featured on YALSA’s Great Graphic Novels for Teens list. “Lights” is due out from Oni Press on September 6.

– SelfMadeHero unveiled their 2023 release slate, starting with Francisco de la Mora’s “Frida Kahlo: Her Life, Her Work, Her Home” in March. May will see the release of Mary M. Talbot & Bryan Talbot’s “Armed With Madness: The Surreal Leonora Carrington” (detailing the life of the WWII-era artist and activist), and “Starman: Bowie’s Stardust Years” from Reinhard Kleist. The last two graphic novels on SelfMadeHero’s list are “Thomas Girtin: The Forgotten Painter” (about the great watercolorist and J.M.W. Turner rival) from Oscar Zarate & Teresa Robertson, and Leo Schulz’s “The Comical Eye’s British Monarchy: From Alfred the Great to Charles III.” Both will be available in June.

– We got our second glimpse of Shazam! Fury of the Gods thanks to the new trailer from Warner Bros. The film, a sequel to 2019’s Shazam!, sees the young Billy Batson and friends face off against the daughters of Atlas, who seek to seize back the powers taken from the gods. Asher Angel resumes his role as Batson, with Zachary Levi returning as his adult superheroic alter-ego. Helen Mirren leads the new team of villains as Hespera. The movie hits theaters on March 17, and in the meantime, you can read a full breakdown with director David F. Sandberg at EW.

– Penguin Random House division DK has complied a comprehensive visual guide to the MCU. Marvel Studios’ The Marvel Cinematic Universe: An Official Timeline follows its history “from the Big Bang to the Blip and beyond,” detailing aspects such as the various Iron Man armors and the Multiverse along the way. The book is written by the trio of Entertainment Weekly staff writer Anthony Breznican, Nerdist managing editor Amy Ratcliffe, and entertainment journalist Rebecca Theodore-Vachon. It’s due out in September of this year.

– Finally, Titan Comics and StoneBot announced that the translation errors in the “Kamen Rider Kuuga” manga will be fixed in future releases and reprints. Both Titan and StoneBot have released statements on their respective Twitter accounts. StoneBot claims the books were translated alongside Argentinian sister publisher OVNI, who produced the Spanish language edition of the series.
