– The Comic Book Legal Defense Fund has been named Humble Bundle’s featured charity for the month of February. Humble Bundle sells various digital content that raises money for charity with each product sold. This means, for the month of February, fans of comics, gaming, and books can contribute to the CBLDF. President of the CBLDF, Christina Merkler, said, “Thank you, Humble Bundle community, for helping us ensure that everyone has the chance to enjoy their right to read freely!”
– Editor Bill Morrison is reportedly no longer employed by DC Comics, according to Bleeding Cool. The latest reported in a series of layoffs at DC, Morrison was a co-founder of Bongo Comics, editor of “MAD Magazine,” and a VP Executive Editor for DC Comics, but was apparently relieved of his editing duties sometime last week.
– Marvel Comics are celebrating Black History Month with a free bundle of five digital comics that celebrate Black Panther’s recent past. The five comics are:
- “Shuri” #1 (2018)
- “Black Panther” #1 (2018)
- “Marvel’s Black Panther Prelude” #1 (2017)
- “Black Panther” #1 (2005)
- “Black Panther: World of Wakanda” #1 (2016)

– FX has officially issued a series order for their long-gestating adaptation of Brian K. Vaughn and Pia Guerra’s post-apocalyptic comic series “Y: The Last Man.” The network originally ordered a pilot for the show, titled simply Y, last April. The cast currently consists of Barry Keoghan (Dunkirk), Diane Lane, Amber Tamblyn (Two and a Half Men), Imogen Poots (Roadies), Lashana Lynch (Still Star-Crossed), Juliana Canfield (Succession) and Marin Ireland (Sneaky Pete). The show is currently slated for a 2020 premiere.
– Marvel editor Eric Goldman has confirmed via his Twitter account that the FX show Legion will conclude after its third season. He also confirmed that series creator Noah Hawley had always intended to end the show after three seasons. The show’s official Twitter account also announced Stephanie Corneliussen (Mr. Robot) will play David Haller’s mother Gabrielle, and Harry Lloyd (Game of Thrones) will play his father, Professor X.
– Two new cast members have been added to the upcoming DC Universe show Stargirl. Meg DeLacy (The Fosters) has been confirmed to play Cindy Burman, the daughter of longtime Justice Society of America villain, Dragon King. Jake Austin Walker (Rectify) has also been confirmed to be joining the cast, though his role is currently unknown.
– Variety reports Ashleigh Murray will reprise her Riverdale role of Josie McCoy on the planned spin-off Katy Keene. Though the series revolves around the title character, it will also see an older Josie trying to make it as a singer in New York. If the pilot is picked up for a full series, then Murray will depart Riverdale for the new series.
– Finally, AMC has announced The Walking Dead will return for its tenth season this October. Last year, AMC announced plans to keep the franchise alive for another decade, with plans for spin offs and TV movies. The Walking Dead will return with the last half of Season 9 this coming Sunday.
