In case you missed it, we have an exclusive preview of “Night Thrasher” #1.

– Titan Comics has unveiled the final part of Amazing Ameziane’s “Cine Trilogy” graphic novel trilogy, this installment focused on the life of iconic Goodfellas and Raging Bull filmmaker Martin Scorsese. Simply titled “Martin Scorsese,” the OGN (according to the official synopsis) “tells the story of the journey of the asthmatic little boy from Little Italy who went on to become one of the world’s greatest directors.” It is told from Scorsese’s perspective by way of first person narration. The announcement comes as Scorsese’s latest feature, Killers of the Flower Moon, received ten Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director. “Martin Scorsese” will be available on October 15, 2024, following “Quentin by Tarantino” on the 13th of this month, and “Don Coppola” between the two.

– Skybound will release all three “Impact Winter” prequel comics in a single collection. “Impact Winter” #1, “Impact Winter: Rook” #1, and the unreleased “Impact Winter: Evenfall” #1, will all be included in the upcoming “Impact Winter Trade Paperback.” The books are based on the hit Audible Original Series Impact Winter, created by Travis Beacham, who writes the comics. Stephen Green (“Hellboy & the BPRD”), Andrea Milana (“Cobra Commander”), and Sumeyye Kesgin (“Voyagis”) provide art for the books. The series, which is set to begin its third season soon, is set in a post-apocalyptic tundra menaced by vampires. The TPB will be available in bookstores and on digital formats on October 15, 2024, and in comics shops the following day.

– The New York City public school system will publish “Historias de Resistencia: Dolores Huerta and the Plight of the Farm Workers’ Union Organizer,” and hand every copy of the 100,000 print run out to students for free. The creative team behind the book includes writer Henry Barajas, artist Louie Chin, colorist Gab Contreras, and cover artist J. Gonzo. The book tells the story of United Farm Workers Association co-founder Dolores Huerta, detailing her life and activism. Barajas refers to the project as “a tribute to the power of grassroots activism and the enduring legacy of one Mexican American woman’s fight for justice.” The NYC public school system will begin distributing the comic on March 1, and make a digital version free online. Barajas will be at the Tucscon Festival Books on March 10 with copies, and plans to release a bilingual flipbook edition in future.

– Writer Matthew Erman is giving “Long Lost” away for free. “Long Lost” was the comic debut of Erman and his wife, artist Lisa Sterle. Originally released by Scout Comics, the book follows two sisters who return to their hometown to solve the otherworldly mysteries their mother was involved with. The book has been compared to Junji Ito’s “Uzumaki” and Charles Burns’s “Blackhole.” The Dropbox link Erman provided has been disabled, due to excessive traffic, with Erman tweeting “Yall it broke.” The writer also tweeted “And if you read it and really love it you can go ahead and preorder my new graphic novel with [Sam Beck], ‘Loving Ohio’ right now while I’ve got your attention.”

– The live-action film adaptation of Tsukasa Hōjō’s “City Hunter” will be available to stream on Netflix starting April 25. Yuichi Sato directs, with Ryōhei Suzuki starring as Ryō Saeba, the title “City Hunter” who (according to the series synopsis’ on MangaHot) will do “anything from bodyguarding to contract killing, but he’ll only take the job if a pretty woman is involved, or the client’s sincerity makes his heart tremble.” This is not the first adaption of the manga, with Hong Kong, South Korea, and France all producing their own versions, but it is the first to actually be filmed in Tokyo’s Shinjuku ward.

– Wynonna Earp is set to return in Wynonna Earp: Vengeance, a 90-minute special exclusively on Tubi. Written and executive produced by series creator Emily Andras, the special will see Melanie Scrofano reprise the title role, with Tim Rozon (Doc Holliday), Dom Provost-Chalkley (Waverly Earp), Katherine Barrell (Nicole Haught), and several others returning as well. The series ended its four-season, 49-episode run on Syfy in 2021. Loyal fans of the show, often called “Earpers,” rallied behind it, and are credited for making the series’ final season happen.

In a live stream, Andras teased what fans can expect, saying “Doc and Wynonna have been on an adventure, and Waverly and Nicole have been at home in [the Earp hometown of] Purgatory, doing their thing.” She added, “I think it’s going to be really interesting to see, hopefully, what gets everybody home — maybe facing a challenge they’ve never faced before, something pretty intense. It’s all your favorite — hopefully — character moments, but also a little bit about growing up and sort of, like, being who you are now and earning all your choices.” The special is set to premiere later this year.

– Finally, Paramount+ has given us our first look at Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Though it is spinning off from last year’s animated feature Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, the show trades the movie’s CGI animation for a more traditional 2D style. The show does pick up where the movie left off, with the Heroes in a Halfshell adjusting to high school on the surface, balancing a normal life with heroics. Most of the principal cast from Mutant Mayhem reprise their roles, with Micah Abbey returning as Donatello, Shamon Brown Jr. as Michelangelo, Nicolas Cantu as Leonardo, Brady Noon as Raphael, and Ayo Edebiri as April O’Neil. The series is set to premiere on the streamer this summer, and you can watch the official trailer here.
