In case you missed it, The Flash movie trailer debuted at the Super Bowl.

– Dark Horse Books and Yoe Books unveiled “Whistleblowers: Four Who Fought to Expose the Holocaust to America,” by writer Dr. Rafael Medoff, and artist Dean Motter. The graphic novel will tell stories of a journalist, a member of Franklin D. Roosevelt’s cabinet, an eyewitness, and an American civil servant, all of whom had their own role in the exposure of the horrors being committed by the Nazis to the US. In the press release, the publishers highlighted that the graphic novel features an adaptation of Arthur Weil’s diary; Weil chronicled his experiences of the tragic journey of the largely Jewish refugee-occupied St Louis from Germany in 1939. “Whistleblowers: Four Who Fought to Expose the Holocaust to America” will be released in book shops on September 26 and in comic shops a day later on September 27.
– Having already been expanded from a six-part miniseries to a 12-part series, G. Willow Wilson and Marcio Takara’s “Poison Ivy” is set to become an ongoing series at DC in June, the publisher announced. The series follows the titular villain venturing outside of Gotham City on a road trip with the goal of destroying humanity, and giving the Green sole dominion over the Earth; with the series’ issue #13, Poison Ivy’s journey will see her return to Gotham City and her girlfriend Harley Quinn for a date. “Poison Ivy” #13 is scheduled for release on June 6.
– Via CBR, Archie Comics unveiled a new Archie Horror one-shot called “Chilling Adventures Presents… Jinx: A Cursed Life” by the creative team of writer Magdalene Visaggio, artists Craig Cermak and Ellie Wright, and letterer Jack Morelli. The one-shot will see Jinx Holliday and her best friend Danni fight a battle against Satan by exorcising Jughead. The creative team first introduced this older version of Jinx, “a normal 14-year-old girl who just happens to dabble in necromancy and rock ‘n’ roll,” in the 2022 anthology “Chilling Adventures Presents… Jinx’s Grim Fairy Tales,” and will be further expanding her mythology as part of Archie’s FCBD (May 6) release ‘The Cursed Library.’ “Chilling Adventures Presents… Jinx: A Cursed Life” #1 will be released on May 17.
– Publishers Weekly reported the expansion of John Patrick Green’s “InvestiGators” series, with two entries in a spin-off series, “Agents of S.U.I.T.,” scheduled by publisher First Second. Green will be joined by writer Christopher Hastings and artist Pat Lewis for “Agents of S.U.I.T.” The first entry in the series, simply called “Agents of S.U.I.T.,” will follow a chameleon called Cilantro on her first field assignment, which involves “a sheep-led workers’ rights revolt and an alien invasion conspiracy… for starters.” Details about the second entry, “Agents of S.U.I.T.: From Badger to Worse,” have been kept under wraps. The first graphic novel has release date of February 21, 2023, with “Agents of S.U.I.T.: From Badger to Worse” planned to be released in February 2024. You can read the story behind the spin-off and the enlisting of Green’s collaborators here.
– Cartoonist Kate Leth revealed the cover for her upcoming graphic novel, “Mall Goth,” created with colorist Diana Sousa and letterer Robin Crank. “Mall Goth” will follow Liv Holme, a 15-year-old bisexual goth and the new-girl-in-town as she discovers that her place of solace from bullies, her teacher’s complicated behavior, and her parents’ difficult marriage is the mall. Leth described the graphic novel as “a labour of love” that started before the pandemic, and added that while it is a work of fiction, it is “still a very personal story.” “Mall Goth” is scheduled for publication by Simon & Schuster on September 26. You can see the cover here.
– AMC pulled back the curtains on its plans for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, with plot details and five additions to its cast. The series will follow Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) as he wakes up in France and sets out to return home. Reedus will be joined by Clémence Poésy and Adam Nagaitis, with Deadline reporting that the series regulars now include Anne Charrier as Genet; Eriq Ebanouey as Fallou; Laika Blanc Francard as Sylvie; Romain Levi as Codron; and Louis Puech Scigliuzzi as Laurent. Further character details were not revealed. With The Walking Dead only showing a small portion of North America, Daryl Dixon will show viewers the apocalypse’s impact on France, a country that is “broken but resilient.” The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is currently filming in France, with its premiere expected later in 2023.
– Finally, TCM aired a Dick Tracy Special: Tracy Zooms In. The special sees Ben Mankiewicz and Leonard Maltin, along with Warren Beatty (as himself) sharing a Zoom call with Dick Tracy, also played by Beatty; in the call, Tracy critiques the 1990 film ‘about him,’ and is forced to confront the issues he has with Beatty. The special blurs the lines between fiction and reality through Beatty’s involvement in the special as co-director with writer Chris Merrill, and an actor in two roles, as well as the meta nature of its story. GameSpot, who reported the airing of the special, suggested that Warren Beatty’s need to retain the TV and film rights to Dick Tracy was the reason for the creation of the special. Chester Gould created the character in 1931. You can watch the special in full here.
