In case you missed it, Vault Comics announced a new series, “HEAVY,” while Mad Cave Studios announced that three of their comic book series will return in the fall of 2020. Marvel also announced Joe Kelly would reteam with Chris Bachalo for “Non-Stop Spider-Man.” We’ve also got an exclusive preview of “Falcon & Winter Solider” #1. We have several announcements from yesterday’s ComicsPRO event so let’s dive right in.

'After the Rain'

– Abrams ComicArts’ new imprint Megascope announced their first titles: “After the Rain,” an adaptation of Nnedi Okorafor’s short story “On the Road” by writer John Jennings and artist David Brame, and “The Heavy” by Shawn Martinbrough. “After the Rain” will be released October 27, 2020, and “The Heavy” will follow on January 19, 2021. Other upcoming titles will include “Death’s Day,” written by Daniel José Older and Baba Malik Duncan with art by Chuck “Dragonblack” Collins, for which the story details and release dates are yet to be announced.

– Changes have been made to DC’s Free Comic Book Day one-shot “Generation Zero: Gods Among Us.” In addition to a new subtitle, the issue will expand Wally West’s epilogue from “Flash Forward,” and drop the reprint of Scott Snyder and Bryan Hitch’s “Wonder Woman” #750 story. For more, head on over to Newsarama.

– Newsarama also reported that Christopher Priest is writing Dynamite’s “sacredsix,” a “Vampirella” spin-off, with art from Gabriel Ibarra, and Jae Lee. The series assembles a newly updated Pantha who is now a panther who can become a woman rather than vice versa; a new version of Draculina now named Victory; Nyx; Chastity of Chaos! Comics fame; Lilith of Drakulon; and a mysterious, unnamed sixth member. The book is due to launch in May.

– Marvel announced that writer Jody Houser will join artist Will Sliney for “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Adaptation.” Not only does the series delve into the movie’s plotlines, it will also have brand-new story material for readers to enjoy. “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Adaptation” #1 will be released in June.

– BOOM! Studios unveiled its key comic launches for 2020. Labeled as “must read,” the list includes “Seven Secrets,” by Tom Taylor and Daniele Di Nicuolo, due out in August, and “We Only Find Them When They’re Dead,” by Al Ewing and Simone di Meo, out in September. Head over to ICv2 for more.

– BOOM! also announced “Power Rangers: Ranger Slayer” #1, featuring an alternate version of Kimberly Hart. The issue will have Kim making a choice that sets the stage for an upcoming event that is being described as epic, and will have ramifications on the entire Power Rangers universe. Check out Comicbook.com for more details.

– Finally, comiXology released a prequel comic for Amazon’s Hunters. The free digital comic follows Ruth Heidelbaum and a rag tag team of Nazi Hunters in the US. The book is written by Arvid Nelson with art by Tom Reilly. Hunters is now available to stream on Amazon Prime.
