– With production due to start soon, it was only a matter of time before we got some casting news about Marvel’s Inhumans television series. Yesterday, we found out that Iwan Rheon of Game of Thrones will be playing Maximus on the series.

– Charles Soule and Alberto Jimenez Alburquerque’s long running creator-owned series at Oni, “Letter 44,” is about to enter its final arc. The book, about aliens, the presidency, and more, has been running since 2013.

Supernatural, as well as Suicide Squad” and “Rough Riders,” writer Adam Glass sets out to debut “The Normals” this May. The new title will be published by AfterShock Comics and will follow a man who discovers that his ideal life, complete with a loving family never happened. In order to make his reality real, he must go on an adventure to save the world. The series will be illustrated by Dennis Calero (“The Dark Tower,” “X-Factor”).

– After fives years, Cincinnati Comic Con announces they are shutting their doors for good. According to an instagram post by the convention’s organizers, they decided to discontinue the convention after much consideration. “As the modern convention scene finds itself moving further and further from actual comic books and the creators who make them, we remain hopeful that somewhere, others will continue where we could not. If you attended one of our shows, whether as an exhibitor, an invited guest, or as a comic fan, thank you. You guys made all the hard work worth it in the end.” The convention was co-founded by “The Walking Dead” co-creator Tony Moore.

– According to an academic study, online piracy can actually boost comic book sales. The study followed the sales of Japanese manga in correlation to their availability on piracy sites. They found that while the sites would tend to correlate with a dip in sales of individual ongoing titles, but that completed series would actually see a rise in sales.

– In movie news, the first cast photo for the new Han Solo anthology film has been released. The cast includes Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover, Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton (who did not appear in the pic), Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Joonas Suotamo, who is taking over the Chewbacca role full time (and who wrote a beautiful note about his new role). With the film currently in production, no title has been given as of yet. The film is slated for release on May 25th, 2018.

– Some good and bad news for Hellboy fans. According to a pair of tweets from Guillermo Del Toro and Mike Mignola, it looks like Hellboy 3 is not going to happen. However Mignola reassured fans that just because a film is not in the works, it doesn’t mean there is no future for the Hellboy franchise.

Logan adds 3 minutes to its runtime to include a stinger scene. No word yet on whether it will be a mid or posts credits scene, but Fox is keeping up their tradition with the X-men films.

– The Legends of Tomorrow season finale will apparently see the team meeting JRR Tolkien, featuring Jack Turner (Freeform’s Stitchers as Tolkien. The episode, “Aruba,” will air on April 14.

– Ezra Claytan Daniel’s “Upgrade Soul” was announced as the winner of the Dwayne McDuffie Award for Diversity in Comics on February 18th. The award was created in 2015 to honor the late comic and animation professional, Dwayne McDuffie and to highlight diversity among creators and their works. The other nominees for the award were “Shaft: Imitation of Life” by David Walker and Dietrich Smith, “StarHammer” by J.N. Monk and Harry Bogosian, “14 Nights” by Kristina Stipetic, and “Amazing Forest” by Ulises Farinas, Eric Freitas and more. If you want to learn more about McDuffie, check out our primer on his work that posted yesterday.

– The creative team behin d“Doctor Strange”, Jason Aaron and Chris Bachalo, will wrap up their run with issue #20 with Dennis Hopeless and Niko Henrichon taking over upon their departure.

– Kate Leth announced that she and the rest of the creative team decided to end “Patsy Walker, AKA Hellcat!” with issue #17 in April.
