In case you missed it, Vault announced Christopher Cantwell and Adam Gorham’s superhero series “The Blue Flame.”

'Oblivion Song' #1

– The end is near for “Oblivion Song” by Robert Kirkman and Lorenzo De Felici: Kirkman confirmed in the letters column for issue #30 of the series that it will be ending with issue #36. At the book’s current monthly pace, that would drop the finale on the week of July 28. The hit Image Comics series follows Nathan Cole, a scientist who travels back-and-forth into a monstrous parallel dimension in search of the 300,000 citizens of Philadelphia that were brought into it over ten years ago. Throughout the course of the series, Nathan had to fight to survive, convince his government to fund an expedition to save the people trapped in this parallel world, and try to navigate the dangers that surround him at every corner. In 2019, the series was picked up by Universal Studios to be developed into a movie.

– Scout Comics have announced a new series titled “Chaos Agent,” by writer Deniz Camp and artist Filya Bratukhin, with colors by Jason Wordie and letters by Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou. The series follows a spy named Philip Bank, who is the top agent for the organization known as W.O.R.L.D.E. After years as a superstar spy defending capitalism from aliens, time travelers, and evil geniuses, Philip questions if there is more to life than endless hyper-violence, and sets out on a deadly journey through the weirdest problems that the world has to offer. The series is set to debut in June.

– The Black Cat has always been a master thief, but now she has set her eyes on one of the biggest prizes in the Marvel Universe — the Infinity Gauntlet. This summer, issue #8 of the current “Black Cat” series will tie into the ‘Infinite Destinies’ storyline. ‘Infinite Destinies’ was previously scheduled for last summer, but was pushed back due to the Diamond Comics Distribution shutdown. The storyline features multiple heroes and villains vying for control of the precious Infinity Stones, which are used to power the Infinity Gauntlet.

– Phil Jimenez opened up on his Instagram page about creative difficulties that he had while working on the ‘DC Rebirth’ title “Superwoman.” In his post showcasing the first issue of the series, he detailed his original plans for the series, saying that he had plotted out two years of the book and planned to explore themes of friendship, burgeoning LGBTQ love, allyship, and the cost of revenge. However, due to “a huge continuity patch to the Superman universe that rendered my first couple of arcs non-canon before they were even finished,” as well as “a note from higher ups that we needed to appeal more to Trump voters,” Jimenez left the series after issue #8.

– The third Spider-Man film finally has a name: Tom Holland officially revealed that his next outing as the famed web-head will be titled Spider-Man: No Way Home. This announcement comes after a series of teases from Holland and other members of the Spider-Man cast, where they listed fake names such as Spider-Man: Home Slice, Spider-Man: Home Wrecker, and Spider-Man: Phone Home. Marvel has a history of giving fans fake names for their films, famously joking that the third Captain America movie would be called Captain America: Serpent Society before revealing that it would actually be Captain America: Civil War. No Way Home releases in theaters on December 17.

– Multiple-time Academy Award-nominated director David Fincher’s next film will be an adaptation of “The Killer,” a French comic book by writer Alexis Nolent AKA Matz, and artist Luc Jacamon. The film will be distributed by Netflix, who also distributed Fincher’s last film, Mank. Michael Fassbender is currently in talks to star in the film. Fincher is well known and well respected for his work on films such as Se7en, The Social Network, and Fight Club. Andrew Kevin Walker, who penned Se7en and Fight Club, will reunite with Fincher for the project. “The Killer” was originally published by Belgian company Casterman and was later translated into English by Archaia. The story centers on the life of an unnamed assassin.

– The CW has announced a slew of new premiere dates for upcoming shows, as well as hiatuses for fan-favorites and new time slots for some others. Riverdale will take a pre-planned hiatus from April 7 through July 7. Elsewhere, two popular DC shows will shift, around as Batwoman moves back an hour to air at 9 PM EST on Sundays, allowing for the return of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow at 8 PM EST on Sundays beginning May 2.

– Disney has confirmed that their upcoming series Loki will debut on Disney+ on June 11. This will be the third original production set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe on the platform, after WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which begins on March 19. Additionally, Star Wars: The Bad Batch, a spin-off of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, will debut on May 4 on the streaming service.

Avatar: The Last Airbender fans have a reason to rejoice as Nickelodeon has announced the establishment of Avatar Studios. This new content division has been created with original series creators Michael DeMartino and Bryan Konietzko on board as co-chief creative officers, and will produce new animated series and films set within the world of The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra. The new content will air on Paramount+, the rebranded version of CBS All Access launching next Thursday, with plans for additional theatrical releases as well. The first project from the studio will be an original animated theatrical film.

– Finally, ViacomCBS revealed the first look at Star Trek: Prodigy, the upcoming animated series due to premiere later this year. Originally conceived for Nickelodeon, Prodigy will now premiere on Paramount+, and then air on the kid’s channel. Prodigy‘s first season will run for ten episodes, and will follow a group of kids who commander a seemingly abandoned Starfleet vessel. None of the main characters on Prodigy will be human, a first for a Trek series, although it will also feature the return of Kate Mulgrew as Admiral Janeway.
