Deloitte and The Ella Project (Ella the Engineer) have announced a new comic book series aimed at exposing girls to STEM in a “fun and unique way.” The series will feature Ella solving various STEM-related problems with the help of various Deloitte leaders. It will consist of four comics and a graphic novel and will be circulated to schools and education groups in the U.S.

– Portland store/publisher Floating World Comics announced a partnership with Italy’s Hollow Press to bring some of their catalogue to the states. The partnership kicks off with releasing the Museum Editions of Mat Brinkman’s early ’00s comics “Multiforce” and “Teratoid Heights.” Both books feature bonus content like art galleries, forewards, and other previously unreleased material. They were originally published in November of last year.

– Skybound Entertainment has halted development of Overkill’s The Walking Dead, the Co-op Action FPS video game released on PC last November. This also means the termination of their contract with developer Starbreeze Studios. Skybound said that it “did not meet our standards nor is it the quality that we were promised.” The Robert Kirkman-lead company will look for “alternative video game options” for the IP.

– Along with their reduction in the number of monthly comics being published, DC Comics’ Dan DiDio announced that collected editions will also see a decrease due to “too many collections in the market.” To make their remaining collections stand out, DC is exploring things like adding exclusive material to the print editions.

– Modesto, CA-based shop Invincible Comics was burglarized twice this past weekend, with the thieves taking merchandise and a several high-value CGC graded comics, including “Amazing Spider-Man” #301, and a copy of “Spider-Gwen” #1 signed by Adam Hughes, Jason LaTour, Robbi Rodriguez, and Stan Lee.

– Hot off its win at the Academy Awards, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse will be getting an extended edition as part of the home video release, called the “Alt-Universe Cut.” This version of the film will feature things that were removed as the story changed throughout the long development process like scenes developing Miles and Ganke’s friendship, as well as the recently released Spider-Ham short.

– Camille Hyde (American Vandal) and Lucien Laviscount (Scream Queens) have been cast in Katy Keene, the CW’s musical pilot based on the Archie character. They will play siblings Alexandra and Alexander Cabot, who have conflicting plans for their father’s record label.

– Warner Bros. have moved up the release date of The Kitchen, the film adaptation of Ollie Masters and Ming Doyle’s Vertigo comic starring Melissa McCarthy, Tiffany Haddish, and Elisabeth Moss. It will now be released on August 9, 2019.

– A collection by Raymond Briggs called “Time for Lights Out” will be published in the UK in November 2019 by Jonathan Cape. Briggs has been working on the collection of short pieces since 2005.

– 20th Century Fox released the newest Dark Phoenix poster on Twitter yesterday, along with the announcement of a new trailer premiering tonight. The film hits theaters on June 7, 2019.
