In case you missed it, we have an exclusive preview of “Punisher: Soviet” #5, and Image Comics have announced a new sitcom-inspired series by Sina Grace, Omar Spahi and Jenny D. Fine titled, “Getting It Together.”

'Fearless Dawn Meets Hellboy'

– Albatross Funnybooks has tweeted a first look at an indie crossover titled “Fearless Dawn Meets Hellboy,” coming this June from creators Steve Mannion and Mike Mignola. Little else was revealed about the comic, including whether it’s a one-shot or a miniseries, but we expect more will be revealed in Albatross’s June 2020 solicitations.

Family Guy writer and producer, Patrick Meighan, and artist GABO, will be releasing a new historical comic book series titled “She Kills.” The comic series will launch online and will be free to read. “She Kills” is a historical western that follows the protagonist, She Kills, a Tongva Native American woman in the Wild West, as she fights to keep herself and her daughter safe from a cruel world. The series will debut online on a monthly basis, starting on April 8, with subsequent releases set for May 13 and June 10.

– Asmodee Entertainment has revealed four new titles of their Marvel novel lineup from the Aconyte fiction imprint. Domino: Strays, Doctor Doom: The Harrowing of Doom, Legends of Asgard: The Head of Mimir, and Legends of Asgard: The Sword of Surtur are all scheduled to debut. The authors, plots, or covers to the novels have not yet been released.

– Hodder Children’s Books will be publishing a graphic novel that tackles the topic of the climate crisis. The graphic novel is titled “Global” and is created by Eoin Colfer, Andrew Donkin, and Giovanni Rigano, the same creative team behind the graphic novel “Illegal.” “Global” follows Sami and Yuki, two young people living on different continents, who are impacted by the effects of global warming. Much like the team’s first graphic novel, “Global” will include additional material and interviews on how to help prevent climate change. Publication is set for autumn 2021 with a paperback to follow in 2022.

– Speaking of climate change, Dark Horse’s Berger Books imprint has announced the publication of “Post York” by James Romberger, an expanded graphic novel edition of his earlier Eisner Award-nominated comic book, first published as a 40-page one-shot published by Uncivilized Books in 2013. The new graphic novel has been expanded to over 100 pages and will be published in September 2020. “Post York” tells the story of the survivors of a near-future New York City that is underwater after the ice caps melt and the streets are made into canals.

Publishers Weekly reports HarperTeen has acquired Anthony Oliveira’s new graphic novel, “Apocrypha,” described as “queer teens in love versus the apocalypse.” The book follows a teen guided by an angel and another possessed by a demon as they find themselves in the middle of a cosmic war. Publication of the book is planned for winter 2023. PW also reported Random House Studio will publish Liz Montague’s untitled graphic memoir in fall 2022.

– Cartoonist Mandy Ord’s graphic memoir “When One Person Dies The Whole World Is Over” has become the first graphic memoir to be longlisted for the Stella Prize, a major Australian literary award. Ord’s graphic memoir is a personal examination of modern life and spans 368 pages and 1,472  memories. Each page represents one day and includes four moments and encounters from Ord’s life. “When One Person Dies The Whole World Is Over” is available through Brow Books and the final 2020 Stella Prize shortlist can be read here.

– Latido Films has acquired international rights to Girl and Wolf, an animated feature based on Roc Espinet’s graphic novel of the same name. The film is in development and brings together part of the team behind Salvador Simó’s Buñuel in The Labyrinth of The Turtles. Girl and Wolf follows Paula, an innocent girl who grew up in an orphanage in a medieval village beset by wolves.

– Emerald City Comic Con organizers, ReedPOP, has now been offering refunds to both convention-goers as well as Artists Alley exhibitors and creators due to concerns about the coronavirus outbreak. Exhibitors outside of Artists Alley have not yet received the same offer, although many creators are still pulling out of the con despite this. The con is scheduled to begin on Thursday, March 12, at the Washington State Convention Center.

– Finally, Disney Channel has announced that season 3 of DuckTales will debut with two new episodes on Disney XD and Disney NOW on April 4; Heavy Metal is adding comic book veteran Joseph Illidge to their staff as co-managing editor; and Abrams Books will publish X-Men: The Art and Making of the Animated Series, a behind-the-scenes book by the series’ story editors, Eric and Julia Lewald, in October.
