– Kicking off, We got the first look at Marvel’s upcoming “Generations” with a solicitation for a hardcover on Amazon with the same name. The release date on Amazon is set for November 21, 2017 and while no creative team has been announced this confirms this is a new series or event and not the name of an upcoming relaunch.
– Marvel is teasing another ResurrXion title with this teaser image from Jim Cheung. Marvel tweeted out “The comic series fans have been demanding!” showing Old Man Logan, Archangel and handful of other redacted figures. Whatever this is it launches June 2017. [Editor’s note: my money is on “Uncanny X-Force” – Brian]
– Warren Ellis confirmed that as part of the new Wildstorm relaunch, “Wildcats” is coming and will be the third title in the imprint behind the recently launched “The Wild Storm” and the announced “Michael Cray.” In the same weekly newsletter, Ellis revealed he also has another unannounced project in the works as well.
– Valiant’s upcoming Bloodshot movie has found a director in Dave Wilson. This will be Wilson’s directorial debut after having success as a visual effects artist.
– In Inhumans news, Charles Soule revealed that chracters he created, aka some of the NuHumans will appear in the upcoming show. This includes characters like Inferno, Flint, Naja, Reader, and Iso, and Kamala Khan (Ms. Marvel) who while not created by Soule is a NuHuman. IMAX also confirmed their release date for the first two episode IMAX premiere as September 1.
– The Flash has found its Abra Kadabra in Ant Man actor David Dastmalchian. Recently seen in Rebirth in “Titans,” Kadabra is a 64th century villain who uses advanced technology and claims it’s magic. Dastmalchian previously appeared in Gotham.
– Is DC partnering with Amazon to establish a new digital subscription service to rival ComiXology and Marvel Unlimited? DC is apparently testing the waters with a survey as reported by Bleeding Cool who posits that DC could partner with Amazon Prime to offer the service for a monthly fee. Where’s the Fry “TAKE MY MONEY” meme when you need it?
– In his C2Con2017 interview, Jim Lee revealed that Young Animal imprint curator Gerard Way is set to remain with the line longer than originally intended. Lee also revealed that the amount of initial Rebirth titles that was returned was less than expected, which is in conflict with recent statements about the huge return rate of the titles.
– Paul Levitz shared a conversation he had with friend and former Vertigo founder Karen Berger before giving the keynote at C2Con2017 saying we are in a “second Golden Age of comics”
