– Thor: Ragnarock directed by Taika Watiti ( What we do in the Shadows out Nov 3 this year not only will see Thor, Chris Hemsworth, battling Hela,Cate Blanchett, and his friend Hulk, Mark Ruffalo, but it will see him doing it with a completely reimagined look. He will be shorn of the long locks that have been his signature in both previous “Thor” franchise film and from the images perhaps without his signature weapon. More then style the tone of this movie will be apparently be more humorous given they are giving it to Taika to direct which is an odd thing give it’s set on the planet Sakaar from ‘Planet Hulk’ with all the implied gladiatorial combat and a vengeful goddess behind the story.
– Marvel revealed not just one pair but two pairs of new characters from their mystery new ResurreXion title to go with Old Man Wolverine and Archangel; the first two being Rogue and Mystique and the second being Gambit and Psylocke leaving two (?) suspicious possibly gun toting silhouettes left.
– Image Comics in celebration of Women’s History Month and their 25th anniversary year commissioned a series of variant covers for 11 of their titles from 11 women artists for this months issues of “Rat Queens” #1, Royal City” #1 “Low” #16, “Motor Crush” #4, “the Wicked + the Divine” #27, “East of West” #32, “Moonshine” #6, “She Wolf”#7, Magdalena” #1, Old Guard” #2 and “Monstress” #11 with all proceeds going to Planned Parenthood.
– The Hulkverine tease Marvel posted days ago is for a “Weapon X”/”Totally Awesome Hulk” crossover coming this summer titled ‘Weapons of Mutant Destruction.’ The event will be written by Greg Pak, starting in “Totally Awesome Hulk” #19 to be followed by a book end special illustrated by Mahmud Asrar. The new Weapon X program is intent on destroying Mutants and are hunting the Hulk at the outset of the series leading to Old Man Logans group teaming up with Amadeus Cho leading to unique team interaction given Cho is not a killer and he will be surrounded by them or the length of the story which will go back and forth between the books.
– Rumor has it that in the upcoming Deadpool 2 the front runner for the part of Domino may have shifted from Scandal‘s Kerry Washington to singer and actress Janelle Monáe. The film is still early in pre-production, and won’t be in theaters will late 2018.
– The ‘All Time Superhero Comics’ superhero line from Famtagraphics has a video trailer by music video director Samuel Bayer, who created the comic line with his brother Josh Bayer. The video celebrates the release of “Crime Destroyer,” the first book in the series, and one that features the last art of Herb Trimpe. The trailer features LaMonica Garrett, Denise Schaefer and stunts from Jackie Chans stunt crew as well as an armed 1970’s Musclecar.
