'Heroes Return' #1 by Leinil Yu

– The new “Heroes Reborn” will come to an end in “Heroes Return” #1, an oversized one-shot due out on June 23. The book will be written by Jason Aaron with art by Ed McGuinness, the creative team behind “Heroes Reborn.” Details for the story are scarce while readers wait for the story to formally begin, but the cover by Leinil Francis Yu hints at the return of the Avengers as they face off against the Squadron Supreme of America, with Captain America, Thor, Black Panther, Blade, Brandy Selby, and the new Phoenix racing into the battle.

– The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be back in side-scrolling action soon with the release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge. The game is being developed by Tribute Games and published by Dotemu, and features the heroes in a half shell taking on the Foot Clan, Rocksteady, Bebop, and (presumably) Shredder himself. The first trailer showcased a retooled version of the classic animated TMNT intro and some footage from the game, which draws heavy inspiration from the classic game Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time. No release date has been set for the game at this time, but it is set to be available for console and PC.

– The art of legendary British creator Brian Bolland will be showcased in “Brian Bolland: The Apex Edition.” This upcoming collection is set to come out from Rebellion in 2022, and will highlight Bolland’s work on “2000 AD” in a deluxe, oversized facsimile format. Along with this announcement, the editors have sent out a request to connect with art collectors who own select original pieces from Bolland’s time on the title. A full list of the requested art can be found here.

– Former DC executive editor Mark Doyle has been brought on as the new editorial director for IDW Publishing. Doyle is a veteran of the comic book industry with more than 14 years of experience. He will be put in charge of acquiring and developing new comics projects, as well as developing editorial strategies for their existing library of titles, including “Locke & Key,” “30 Days of Night,” and “Usagi Yojimbo.” Speaking on the new position, Doyle said “My passion has always been working with talent and telling original stories, so I’m excited to be a part of this growing team. I know we’re going to make great things together.”

– The Folio Society has released a new collaboration with Marvel Comics to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Captain America. This special collection brings together ten landmark comics from the storied history of Captain America, as selected by former Marvel Editor-in-Chief Roy Thomas. The folio features cover art by Michael Cho, and the slipcase for the book features commemorative art that celebrates the iconography of Captain America. In addition, this special edition includes a reproduction of “Captain America Comics” #1.

Doom Patrol has added actress Michelle Gomez in the role of Madame Rouge for their upcoming season. Gomez is set to be brought on as a series regular, joining the likes of Matt Bomer and Diane Guerrero, who star as Negative Man and Crazy Jane, respectively. In the comics, Madame Rouge is perhaps known best as a foe to the Doom Patrol, though her role for the TV series seems to imply that there is a mystery surrounding her sudden arrival. Gomez is known for her roles on Doctor Who, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and The Flight Attendant.

– Sky Cinema has confirmed that they will be premiering the upcoming release of Zack Snyder’s Justice League on Thursday, March 18. This announcement comes after Snyder himself shared his concerns for the film’s international distribution. Sky Cinema will be the exclusive platform for the film across the UK, Ireland, Germany, and Austria.

– A pair of children’s graphic novels from writer/artist Vikram Madan have been picked up by Holiday House. The books feature Owl & Penguin, two unlikely friends who flock together like birds of a feather, despite their differences. The books are planned for release in the fall of 2022.

– Finally, Disney announced the cast of the rebooted DuckTales will reprise their roles for This Duckburg Life, a seven-part podcast hosted by Huey (Danny Pudi). As indicated by the title, the series is a parody of This American Life. The podcast will begin on Disney XD’s YouTube channel on Monday, March 29. The series finale of DuckTales airs this Monday, March 15.
