– Kicking off, “remember how well it went last time Warner hired an X-Men director for a Superman film?” (direct quote from the editor) It appears that DC is in talks with director Matthew Vaughn of X-Men: First Class fame to helm Man of Steel 2. As DC keeps shuffling their film slate around let us hope they have an idea of what their doing. The Man of Steel sequel has no release date (like most of DC’s announced films…)

– Ahead of Marvel’s upcoming June solicits, another “Secret Empire” one-shot has been announced. “Secret Empire: Underground” hits stores in June from Jeremy Whitley and Eric Koda which features Mockingbird leading a team on a mission to the Savage Land. Check out an interview with Whitely and editor Charles Beacham here.

Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins confirmed today, following last night’s trailer that boxer Ann Wolfe will be playing the Amazonian Artemis in the upcoming film.

– P. Craig Russell is finishing up a graphic adaptation of The Giver, which he revealed (along with some artwork) on his Facebook page.

– The highest grossing anime film of all time, Your Name, is coming to the U.S. in select theatres on April 7th.

– Hellboy is no stranger to prose stories, and Dark Horse is releasing a new prose anthology this summer, featuring work from Richard Kadrey (current “Lucifer” scribe), Christopher Golden (who is also editing the book), and Chris Roberson. Mike Mignola will contribute some illustrations to accompany the stories.

– Because it was so successful last time, Image is bringing back their Homecoming Dance at Rose City Con. The event is for people 21 years and up and will take place September 9th. Tickets are on sale at Image’s website.

_ IDW employee Rosalind Moreland is making a switch! It was announced today that the former Marketing and PR Manager will be moving to DC as their new Manager of Consumer Marketing. Congrats!

– The creative team behind DC’s new General Mills cereal advertising campaign has been revealed. Boxes of Trix, Lucky Charms, Cocoa Puffs, Cinammon Toast Crunch, and Cheerios, are being adorned with artwork from Ivan Reis, Tony Daniel, Amanda Conner and more.
