In case you missed it, “Asterix” co-creator Albert Uderzo has passed away at 92 after a heart attack.

– Rebellion Publishing has reassured readers that despite the coronavirus pandemic, “2000 AD” and “Judge Dredd Magazine” will continue to be published and sent to subscribers. Non-subscribers also still have the chance to buy physical copies of both titles from the “2000 AD” webshop. They also stated that newsagents and retailers will still receive comics as well. However, the publication of “Best of 2000 AD” #1 will be delayed from its April 29 release until further notice. All titles will still be available digitally on their existing publication dates. “2000 AD” have also announced via Twitter that they are no longer taking art and story submissions due to the lockdown in the UK, hoping that they will re-open later this year.

– Kodansha and creator Nakaba Suzuki have announced a new sequel to the recently wrapped up manga series, “The Seven Deadly Sins,” which ran for 8 years and 346 chapters. The sequel series is titled “The Four Knights of the Apocalypse.” More details on the follow-up are still to come. “Seven Deadly Sins” told the story of a princess seeking the help of seven exiled knights who had been framed for a crime they didn’t commit.

– Publisher Humanoids has delayed shipment of books to all of its retailers, including Diamond Comic Distributors, for at least four weeks due to the pandemic. Likewise, AHOY Comics have announced that they are delaying the publication of two of their upcoming books due to the pandemic and its effect on businesses worldwide. The debut issue of “Ash & Thorn”, originally set to release April 1, will now be released on April 29. “Billionaire Island” #2, originally scheduled to release on April 8, is now delayed until April 15. This will be the first time in AHOY Comics’s history that a title will be delayed. AHOY is not suspending operations and is only delaying the titles to space out the releases and give them a chance to find an audience during this difficult time.

– Comic-Con organizers have confirmed that they still expect to hold San Diego Comic-Con on the originally planned weekend of July 23-26, despite the convention center being transitioned into a temporary homeless shelter. A final decision on the matter may not have to be made until June, according to San Diego Tourism Authority CEO, Joe Terzi.

Wonder Woman 1984 is among the latest in a long line of film and TV projects to be impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. The movie has been pushed from June 5 to an August 14 release. These delays show that Hollywood expects that movie theaters may remain closed through June. Similarly, AMC has announced that the season 10 finale of The Walking Dead will be postponed to later in the year, as the coronavirus outbreak has made it impossible for post-production to be completed. The season will now end with the 15th episode, airing on April 5, with the finale airing as a special episode on an unspecified date. The finale was originally slated for April 12.

– CFO of Image Comics, Erik Larsen (“Savage Dragon”) has voiced his concern and support for comic shops by stating via Twitter that he does not want to release a single issue of “Savage Dragon” digitally when comic shops can’t receive physical copies. He will continue to produce the book but will hold off on releasing them until comic shops are able to stock them.

– Valiant VP Matthew Klein and publisher Fred Pierce sat down for an interview with The Beat to talk about the state of the company and comics as a whole in the middle of this pandemic. They similarly stated, “Anything that we don’t release into a comic book store, we will not be releasing digitally. We first service the comic book stores, and then we service as digital.” Read the full interview here.

Stargirl creator and co-showrunner Geoff Johns has released a personal letter for fans to read before they watch the May 11 premiere on DC Universe. Stargirl is Johns’s first DC TV series as showrunner, and is also based on his late sister, Courtney, who was killed in an airplane disaster. You can read Johns’s letter here.

– Finally, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that The Terminator and Aliens star Michael Biehn will be joining the cast of The Mandalorian season 2. This marks Biehn’s highest-profile project in over a decade. Specific details on Biehn’s character are unknown, although it is said he will be playing a bounty hunter. Season 2 of The Mandalorian is set to release on Disney+ from October.
