In case you missed it, Incendium imprint Opus Comics will launch with “Frank Frazetta’s Death Dealer,” a series inspired by the 1973 painting of the same name. We also have exclusive previews of next week’s “Hellboy: The Silver Lantern Club” #5, and “Iron Fist” #2.

– Dark Horse, along with game developers CD Projekt Red, has announced an original manga set in the world of The Witcher will be available in trade paperback this fall. “The Witcher: Ronin” will be written by CDPR’s Rafal Jaki, and feature art and lettering by Hataya and Aditya Bidikar respectively. The Japanese folklore-inspired story will see Geralt on the trail of Yuki Onna, Lady of the Snow. The TPB collects the successfully Kickstarted manga, and features a new cover from Jen Bartel. It will be available in comic shops on October 19 and bookstores on November 1.
– Aoife Dooley’s debut graphic novel “Frankie’s World” will be published by Scholastic imprint Graphix Books. The book, which follows young autistic girl Frankie as she looks for her long absent father, will be available in the US starting August 2, 2022. It will feature cover art from Steve Ponzo. UK readers can purchase it now from Scholastic’s website.
– Moon Knight writer Sabir Pirzada has been tapped for a potential Nova project. Details are vague about the project, although Deadline’s Justin Kroll tweeted it is more likely to be a limited Disney+ series than a film. The Nova Corps debuted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Guardians of the Galaxy, and there have been two main Nova in the comics: Richard Rider (created by Marv Wolfman and John Romita Sr. in 1976), and Sam Alexander (created by Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuinness in 2011.)
– A deleted scene from The Batman has been released on Warner Bros. Pictures’s YouTube page (and in 4K on Matt Reeves’s Vimeo). The clip gives us our first full view of Barry Keoghan’s Joker, only seen in glimpses at the end of the film. The scene was cut from the first act of the movie, and shows Robert Pattinson’s Batman visiting the Joker at Arkham to gain insight into the Riddler’s motives. The clip was a reward for anyone who could answer the Riddler’s three questions on rataalada.com.
– Aquaman: King of Atlantis will get a DVD and digital release on April 26, 2022. Originally released as a three-part miniseries on HBO Max, King of Atlantis will be compiled into a feature for the home release. Produced by Aquaman director James Wan, the film is a self-parody set between both of Jason Momoa’s solo movies, albeit with Cooper Andrews as the voice of Arthur Curry.
– Sam Davies’s “HexVet,” originally published by BOOM! Studios’s KaBOOM! imprint, has been picked up by Nickelodeon. The network plans to adapt the all-ages comic, which follows two aspiring veterinarians hoping to specialize in treating magical creatures, into a 20-part, CG/2D-hybrid preschool cartoon. The series was announced alongside Nickelodeon’s renewal of Big Nate and Blaze and the Monster Machines.
– Finally, Z2 will team with Grammy winners Halestorm for “Hyde Manor,” a horror graphic novel inspired by the band’s EP Hello, It’s Mz Hyde, and the following LP, The Strange Case Of… (both celebrating their tenth anniversary this year). The book will see the band trapped in a decrepit old mansion, facing evil doppelgangers of themselves. Brittany and Brianna Winner will script, with art by Sara Scalia, and colors from DJ Alonso. Alison Sampson provides cover art. Standard editions will come with a deck of cards, a two-sided coin featuring lead singer Lzzy Hale and evil double Ms. Hyde, and a Ms. Hyde special edition Collector’s Card. Deluxe editions will come with a trio of prints from Egidija Guobyte. The book is due out this October.
