In case you missed it, ComicHub is partnering with comic book shops offering new opportunities to sell comics digitally, “Fangirl” by Rainbow Rowell will get a manga adaptation, and a certain Judge returned in “2000 AD” Prog 2175. We also have an exclusive preview and essay for “A House Divided: The Accursed Inheritance of Henrietta Achilles,” and an interview with writer Mathew Klickstein on his AfterShock series “You Are Obsolete.”

– PBS interviewed Korean-Swedish artist Lisa Wool-Rim Sjöblom about her “I Am Not a Virus” series of cartoons related to corona-fueled racism against Asians. Sjöblom notes that racism against Asians during the pandemic is not limited to verbal or physical attacks. She says, “It’s more like a feeling that you recognize when you are used to being subjected to racism, which is glances and people moving away. You’re very conscious about yourself and if you cough and you feel really surveillanced.”
– Newsarma reports that Viz has announced a new “Super Mario Manga” collection arriving in North America in Winter 2020. The digest will be 160 pages and will collect Japanese stories that have never been published in English.
– From Variety, the graphic novella, “Roman Ritual” will be adapted into an event series by director Paco Plaza (REC), who is set to write and direct with producer Enrique López Lavigne. Written by El Torres with art by Jaime Martinez and colors by Sandra Molina, “Roman Ritual” is about a pope forced out of his position by the Vatican because he is possessed by the Devil. The Church calls on the exiled Father Salvador Trinidad to exorcise the pontiff. No word yet on projected dates for release.
– TVWise reports that Syfy UK will begin broadcasting Vagrant Queen in the UK on April 15th at 9pm. Based on the comic book series by Magdalene Visaggio and Jason Smith, “Vagrant Queen” is a sci-fi epic that follows the child queen, Elida, as she retakes her throne. – From Newsarama, Comics Experience, the online school and resource center for comics creators, announced a “Retailer Relief” program that will direct 80% of its revenue towards local comic shops affected by the coronavirus. The latest online class, a “Master Seminar with Jonathan Hickman” is available for registration for $295.
– Through a press release (via Newsarama), the Kubert School announced that it will be offering online kids classes. “For every Saturday in the month of April, The Kubert School will have a different guest artist giving FREE art instruction to everyone who watches the class on our Facebook page! https://www.facebook.com/thekubertschool/ Each Saturday Online Kids Class, will be held at 10AM to 11AM EST. The only supplies you will need is a piece of paper, crayons, pencils or markers and a big imagination!”
– FDG Entertainment tweeted screenshots for a game project entitled DuckTales QuackShots with previous collaborator Game Atelier. They said, “We worked hard on a legit pitch to Disney but unfortunately never got the license. It would’ve been a shame to bury the material so it became this years #AprilFools. Maybe someday Disney will reconsider?”
